My father was the FCX store manager in Bishopville, S.C. during the 50's. Mr. McClam being a Clemson graduate and Navy Combat Veteran of WWII, became my buddy whether he liked it or not. I was 9 at the time. Over the years my dad and Mr. McClam traveled together on periotic trips to FCX meetings in Statesville, N.C.. I remember him fondly.

We are so very sorry to learn of Mac's passing. We are so grateful for the friendships we enjoyed with both Mac and Ruth. We were Sunday School classmates at Ridge Road Baptist Church for over 50 years. Ruth and Anne also played bridge in the same group for over 50 years and enjoyed many fun bridge trips to Mac and Ruth's place at the beach. Joe and Mac enjoyed reminiscing about their service in the Navy during WWII. We miss their enthusiasm, their zest for life, their joy and their companionship. We mourn their loss and celebrate their lives. Their memories are blessings to us. Our thoughts and prayers are with their beloved family.

Smooth sailing, Sailor.

I worked with and for Mr. Mac for 37 years. He was truly a great friend. I have letters in my file from him thanking me for a job well done. You, as a family, should, and I am sure you are, be proud of your wonderful father. I cannot be at the service in Raleigh but I will be in prayer for all the family. He always had a great interest in the well being of fellow employees. I cannot say all the good things that I feel about this Southern Gentleman

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in the promises at Isaiah 25;8 that reads: "He will swallow up death forever and will wipe the tears from all faces." Also, death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away." (Revelation 21;4) I hope these promises from the scriptures will offer some comfort in your time of loss.
