Welcome to the memorial page for

Dierdre Viard

March 16, 1945 ~ January 19, 2015 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Dierdre Lee Viard passed away in the late afternoon of January 19, 2015.  Her favorite song was "Danny's Song" by Loggins and Messina.  She was fond of Anne Murray's performance of the hit song from 1972.  She loved the movie "Good Will Hunting" and watched it countless times.  She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, sing, write short stories, and make new friends.

In the very late afternoon, she would wind down by listening to audio books with her tabby cat Potsy purring at the foot of her bed to the sound of the British Accents narrating mysteries.  Together, they often watched the sunset from her 12th story apartment window at the Finlay House on Blossom Street.  She will be missed by all who loved her. Dierdre is survived by her sons, Christopher Robin Viard and Timothy Marshal Viard.

“Miss Me, But Let Me Go”

When I come to the end of the road.

The sun has set for me.

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room;

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long;

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me – but let me go

For this is a journey we all must take;

And each must go alone.

It’s all part of the Master’s plan –

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart,

Go to the friends we know.

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.

Miss me, but let me go.
