Obituary

Theresa Roseanne Cormack, 72 of Columbia, South Carolina passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of November 9, 2022.

Theresa was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to William Joseph Cormack, Jr. and Mary Bruce Cormack. She was  raised by her grandmother,  Rose Cormack and aunts Nancy and Alice Cormack in Columbia, South Carolina.

Theresa attended Dreher High School, studied ballet under Anne Brodie Ballet  and attained an associates degree from the University of South Carolina. Shortly after graduating she worked for the SC Department of Social Services.

Theresa would eventually move to Los Angeles, California and later Las Vegas, Nevada to reside close to her sister and nephew. Theresa later returned to the Upstate of South Carolina and Columbia to reside with her aunt and mother-figure, Nancy.

Theresa loved people and animals and always had a very giving and loving spirit. She was fiercely intelligent and always wanted to help others. She loved a good joke and had a great sense of humor. Her resilient and persevering nature aided her in fighting and surviving stage-three breast cancer in 2008. She would never allow you to not receive a gift on a holiday or birthday, no matter how many times you may have said it was not necessary. She loved people and had a dedication to her animals whom she loved wholly and selflessly.

Theresa is survived by her beloved aunt Nancy Cormack, Columbia, SC; sister Jean Cormack Bass, Houston, Texas; Sister-in-law Mary Ella Cormack, Raleigh, North Carolina; beloved nephew, Jeffrey Russell, Los Angeles, California; niece, Alisea Holt (Andy), Columbia, South Carolina; nephew, Troy Cormack, Raleigh, North Carolina; niece, Christina Bass, Columbia, South Carolina; great niece, Jessica Cormack, Raleigh, North Carolina; great niece, Jenna Russell, Calabasas, California; great nephews, Davis Holt and Sterling Nicholas Heaton, Columbia, South Carolina, and her animals whom she did everything for - dogs Chloe, Bella, and cat Goustov.
