Teresa Jeanmougin Obituary

Teresa Bernadette Grone Jeanmougin began her celebration with the Lord on November 29, the first Sunday of Advent, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the blood system.

Teresa was a devoted Catholic mother, who unselfishly raised her children in a loving and caring manner.  Teresa received a degree in computer programming, which she put to use at the Cincinnati Enquirer, until deciding to leave her career to focus on raising the family. She did this while moving from Kentucky to Louisiana to St. Louis and back to Kentucky before ending up in Columbia, SC. Her three kids kept her busy – wherever they were – but she still found time to volunteer at the Church, helping with clerical work, book keeping, sewing or cooking.  She was the “chef” for the formal Valentasia dinner at Transfiguration Catholic Church for 2 years.  She also supported the Knights of Columbus at both Transfiguration and the State, serving with Paul as the Hospitality Couple.  She did all of this while building a loving environment for the family to grow, welcoming Adam, Ivan and Breanna with open arms as if they were her own children.  Teresa’s smile and love for life were shared with her extended family whenever they were together, playing euchre, celebrating holidays (which could involve wrapping paper battles) to bringing joy to everyone she met.    She especially enjoyed spending time with the family – particularly on the lake -a place that was known to sooth her as her battle with cancer dragged on.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul S Jeanmougin, her beloved children Christina M Jeanmougin Blum, her love,Adam H Blum, Denise M Jeanmougin Pino, and her love Ivan GPino, and Paul R Jeanmougin, his love Breanna L Benenhaley Jeanmougin, and grand daughter Emily P Blum.  Her siblings Charles (Chuck), Paul and Barb Winters survive her, and she will be joining her parents Vera and Robert, and sisters Jeannette and Margie with the Lord.

A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday December 5, 2020 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 9720 Wilson Blvd, Blythewood, SC. The mass will be livestreamed on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Transfig  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday December 4, 2020 at the funeral home. She will be buried immediately following the funeral at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 1200 Mason Road, Columbia, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Myeloma Program at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, Office of Gift Records, Emory University, 1762 Clifton Rd. NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30322 or online at:https://winshipcancer.emory.edu/support-winship/give/memorial-gifts.html
