Robert L Maslen

Robert “Bob” Larry Maslen, aged 75, of Elgin, SC passed peacefully on December 20, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, SC. He was born November 26, 1946 at home in Syracuse, NY

Loved to fish, hunt, and loved music. He played the guitar, bass guitar, piano. He played in a band for many years. 

Proud serviceman, having served in the US Navy, honorably discharged. Was able to travel the world.

Active member of his church, serving the Methodist Community for over 45 years. Sang in the choir, playing piano/organ, volunteering at Nursing Homes, and was a layman.

10 year volunteer Rescue member with Brunswick Volunteer Rescue Squad as an EMT Shock Trauma Tech. Saving many lives, and even bringing 2 lives into the world. 

Proceeded in death by: parents, William Oliver Earl and EthelMae Maslen​ Brothers, William Jr, Thomas, Donald, and Frederick ​​�Sister, Joyce

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Ann Maslen, daughters, Wendy Previtire of Charlotte, NC and Terri (Jason) Bellotto of Columbia, SC. His grandchildren, MaLisa (Anthony) Bogues of Charlotte, NC, Travon Previtire of Washington DC, and Dejah Coleman of Washington DC. Great-grandchildren, Chandler and Skyler. His twin brother Richard “Dick” (Holly) Maslen. Sisters Marilyn Longamore,  Barbara(Patricia) Maslen. A ton of beloved nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. And many great nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held on April 2, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Kornegay and Mosley Funeral Home 4645 Hardscrabble Road, Columbia, SC with interment at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: SQ Rescue SBT, 1146 Coatesdale Road, Columbia, SC 29223
