Richard Stokes

Minister Richard Stokes, 81 was born August 23, 1940 in Detroit , MI. He was ordained a minister by Bishop Starks of the Church of God In Christ in Detroit MI.  He owned his own carpet installation business in Detroit, MI and California. 

Richard was a multi-talented and multi-gifted man enjoying varied interest, such as, working on car, boxing and music and promotion. This lead him to become a certified mechanic and boxer in his younger years and a founding his own record label and music recording studio in his middle years. 

He loved family. His favorite pastime was playing the piano, singing songs and fellowshipping with family and friends. He also loved dancing with his wife and hamming it up with his children.

Richard was proceeded in death by his beautiful wife of 52 years Edlyn Stokes, daughter and son, Waweice and Richard, a grandson, Zion Ayers, a granddaughter, TenieshaCashay, father and mother, John and Marie Stokes, siblings, Thelma, Clarence, Joe and John. 

He leaves to mourn his daughters, Crystal, Adriann and Jacquelyn, his grandchildren, Bridgette, Kyle, Tierra, Tajahand Jimmy, great-grands, Ahlyus, David and Malik, siblings, LaNelle, Barbara, Elizabeth, Katherine, Melba and Phyllis and a host of family and friends.
