Paul Davis Kannaday, Jr.

Paul Davis Kannaday Jr., 75, of Columbia died Saturday, May 22, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Surviving is his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, his wife, Delores Rabon Kannaday of Columbia. They shared a 60 year romance filled with love, respect, and mutual admiration.
He is also survived by his daughters Candace Lynn Kannaday of Columbia and Kimberly Kannaday Amick of Mooresville, NC. Additionally, Mr. Kannaday leaves behind his six beloved grandchildren: Savannah Blythe Amick, Landon Gabriel Amick, Davis Aaron Ramos, Troy Alan Ramos, Cale Anthony Ramos, Hallee Marie Ramos, and his brother Raymond Alan Kannaday.
Mr. Kannaday was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Wilhelmina Kannaday Sr., formally of Columbia.
Mr. Kannaday was born November 14, 1945, in Columbia, in Richland County. He attended Columbia High School, where he played baseball, basketball, track and field, and was captain of the football team, graduating in 1964. After high school Mr. Kannaday continued his education at the University of South Carolina in the fall of 1964.
Mr. Kannaday was employed by truck leasing businesses for 28 years: Carolina National Leasing, Ryder, and Salem Leasing. He was also employed by Trane Heating and Air as a Comptroller.
He was a member of the Executive Associates of Greater Columbia. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, playing softball, watching sports, and enjoyed spending time with family.
He will be remembered for his infectious laughter and jokes.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road Columbia, SC 29229.
