Mary Elizabeth Pinkston-Streetman, 86, retired, died peacefully in her home, on November13, 2022 in Columbia, South Carolina. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. George(Ridgeway, SC), her grand-daughters, Alana Sitton (Lexington), Melanie Pinkston (Florida), Kristina George (Columbia) and Megan George (Lexington). She is also survived by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Mary was the daughter of the late Thomas Charles Amond and the late Arbutus Elizabeth VonFinkenburg.
Mary attended Beckley HS (1954) Beckley, WV where she was a very outgoing, loving spirit. That same year, she married the man of her dreams and the love of her life, Joseph Robert Pinkston, Jr and later had 3 children.
Mary was an Army wife and moved to several different army bases in the USA and overseas. In 1964 Mary and Joe moved back to the states ending up in SC. Mary worked for SCETV and retired from Richland Memorial Hospital, where she had a career as a Nursing
Administrative Assistant for the Director of Nursing. After retirement, Mary spent time traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21,2022 at 2pm at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 721 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC. The burial will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington, SC.
