Margaret “Margie” Colleen Elliott passed away July 27, 2022 in Lexington, SC. Born in Florence, SC, her family relocated to Camden to start their own business when she was very young. As a long time resident of Camden, SC, she was an integral member of the business community as proprietor of Elliott’s Jewelers, founded by her father, Lester Elliott. A 1972 graduate of Camden High School and a 1974 graduate of Columbia College, she later became an office manager and paralegal for the Richland County Public Defender’s Office upon the sunset of the family business. A debutante and contestant in the 1970 Miss Camden pageant, she was a talented designer and interior decorator and often lent her discerning eye to her friends and family. She loved Motown music and loved to dance and was a member of the Palmetto Shag Club. Laughing and being silly were favorite pastimes and she especially loved goofy and wacky comedic performances. She was quite fond of her Siamese cats, Choo-Choo and Lou, and later, her Corgi/Dachshund dog, Cody. She loved the sunshine, the beach, blooming flowers, southern Springs, and Ladybugs as a decorative touch. Mostly, she loved her children and grandchildren and found no more joy than spending time with them and helping them to succeed. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lester Elliott, originally of Chester, SC and Margaret Quinton Elliott, also originally of Chester. Surviving are her sons Jeff A. Cash Jr. and R. Brent Cash; grandsons Brik Cash (Jeff Jr.) and Blake Cash (Brent), and granddaughter Shelby Cash (Brent). Also surviving are cousins Lyn Elliott Gaston and her husband Dr. Harvey Neely Gaston; Matt Elliott and his wife Kim; John Elliott and his wife Marsha; Bob Elliott; John Russell Elliott; Elliott Hermann and his wife Carol; David Harrison and his wife Karen; Joel Harrison; John Elliott Parker and his wife Trudy; H. Charles Parker; and Michael T. Parker. A celebration of life service followed by a visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at 2:30pm at Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home in Northeast Columbia. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to your local animal shelter.
