Lena “Claudette” C. Younger

Affectionately known as "Claudette", Mrs. Younger was born October 3, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia. She was raised in Bronx, New York where she graduated from high school in 1958. On August 19, 1959, she married Bobby. Over her 61 year marriage, Mrs. Younger served 30 years as a dedicated Army wife and 33 years as a civil service employee, retiring from Fort Jackson in 2004.  She had an avid love for Christian music and enjoyed singing in church.  

She is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Younger, her kids Lorenda Younger, Damaris Anderson and Wendy Chester (Ray) of Columbia, South Carolina, sons Bobby L. Younger Jr. of Barstow, California and Tremaine Younger (Tameka) of Swansea, South Carolina. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Younger was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
