Joseph N. Pietrantone Jr., of Columbia, SC, departed this life on February 4, 2021. The eldest son of Joseph and Lena, he is survived by his four children with first wife, Margaret (deceased), his wife, Charlotte, and two step-children, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother.
Born in Solvay, NY during the Great Depression, he worked on a farm as a young boy to earn money for his family, served in the Army during the Korean War, graduated from the University at Buffalo, and retired after 30 years of service to the electric company.
A man who enjoyed to watercolor, write tales of his childhood, and chronicle his family history through storytelling, the one thing he valued above all else was his beloved family. His devotion to family, including spouses, children, grandchildren, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, was enduring; each summer leading the family picnic where he was always sure to have the bowls for the pasta fazool.
To a man who loved his get-togethers, goodbye for now—we will celebrate later.
“I assure you that whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and won’t come under judgment but has passed from death into life.”
(John 5:24)
