Ira Lawrence Miller

Ira Lawrence Miller, COLUMBIA - Ira Lawrence Miller, 76, died peacefully at home on Monday, February 15th, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born October 16th, 1944 at Providence Hospital to Dr. Harold and Meta Miller, Ira graduated from AC Flora High School in 1962 and the University of North Carolina in 1966. Upon returning to Columbia, Ira spent over 50 years as a real estate broker, developer, and mediator, but was most enthusiastic about the many friends he made and cultures he experienced during his extensive travel. Ira was proud to have visited over 80 countries on 5 continents, particularly enjoying India, China, Egypt, Morocco, Nepal, and Japan. Ira is predeceased by his parents, and son Russell Prince (Jennifer). He is survived by his wife Donna, mother-in-law Nell Witt, sons Michael and Scott Prince (Ann), and grandchildren Andrew, Anna, David, Jacob, and Jordan. Memorial services are under the direction of Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, February 19th, beginning at 2:00 with services to follow at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
