Harley Ray Thompson of Columbia, SC, passed away on Saturday, January 1st, 2022. Harley was born in San Jose, California and was the son of Cora May Tuttle and the late Charles Tuttle. He was currently employed with First Defense for over 25 years. Harley was a Army and Air-Force veteran who proudly served his country. He also had a big heart for animals as well and enjoyed cooking and camping with family and friends.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his mother; wife, Betty Lawann Cobb Thompson; daughter, Crystal Thompson, grandson, Zander Bohn, as well as his sister, Marie (Jerry) Ramsey; sisters in law, Cindy (Phil) Waynick and Cathy Hanzlik. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his son Joshua Shawn Thompson
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 2pm Saturday January 8, 2022 at Sandy Grove UMC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Reverend Jack Cobb will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sandy Grove UMC, Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter or the Wounded Warriors.
