Gwendolyn “Gwen” Allen was born to the late Wilbert and Marjorie Reynolds, in Central City, Kentucky on June 30, 1949. Gwen graduated from Central City High School in 1967. After graduating, she married her husband of over 38 years, Richard Allen, and they had two beautiful daughters, Dienna and Kimberly Allen. Gwen enjoyed two rewarding careers, first, at the United States Post Office and later, in Richland School District Two. In addition, she was a professional bowler, and she loved to play tennis.
Gwen was surrounded by her large and loving family. She was a military wife, a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. She had seven grandchildren who were her pride and joy, along with eight great grandchildren. Gwen regularly hosted birthday parties, family dinners, holidays, and family gatherings to celebrate. She was always excited to spend time with family. Gwen will be missed by her loved ones.
Gwen is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Robinson; her grandsons, Donovan Smith, Zackare Robinson, and Erik Smith; granddaughters Lauren (Mark) Jackson, Erika Smith, Desirae Smith, and Cetara Williams; great grandchildren Donvan “D.J.” Smith, Mark Jackson, Johnnie Williams, Ryan Robinson, Sophia Jackson, Allen Williams, Preston Smith, and Kaye Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allen and daughter, Dienna Wright.
