Greta Rector

Greta D Rector, 89 of Blythewood, South Carolina passed away on May 14, 2023.  She was born in Phenix City, Alabama on May 2, 1934.  She was the daughter of the late Minzor Z. Chadwick and Sarah I. Chadwick 

Mrs. Rector was predeceased by her husband Melvin L. Rector, her brother Ronald A. Chadwick and sister, Sarah “Ree” Bullock.  She is survived by her brother Minzor W. Chadwickand sister Derry C. Grant

She is also survived by her daughter Angela D. Rector, granddaughter Kaylee A. Vaughn (Preston), grandson Dean A.Boilek (Allie), great grandchildren Blaire E. Vaughn and Grayson D. Vaughn along with several nephews and nieces that knew her as the “fun” aunt.  She loved and supported her husband in his military career with a love of traveling to the countries they lived in. Once back in the States, she worked many years as a private duty nurse and had a love for reading and books like no other, especially her cookbooks.   Visitation will be at Kornegay and Moseley at 11:00 am and will be immediately followed by a service in their chapel.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
