Charles Lindman Obituary

Charles "Tim" Lindman, 85, of Columbia, SC peacefully passed away on January 4th, 2021surrounded by his loving daughters. Tim graduated from Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where he along with his hometown basketball team the "Clippers" were highly regarded, breaking several state and regional records during the years of 1950-1954.  Later he attended The University of New Hampshire, graduating in 1958 with a degree in History.
He was married for 52 years to his beloved wife, Dorothy, who passed in 2012. Being a kind and dependable Father was of the utmost importance to Tim and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. He is survived by his daughters, Katherine L. Good and Jennifer L. Benner and husband Tom, granddaughters, Grace G. Josey and husband John, Lily Kathryn, Charlotte Evelyn and his grandson, Nathan Thomas.
Tim will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving Dad, an avid world traveler, a buff on all things WWII related and spending time with his family. He spent his entire career as a Public Health Adviser with CDC before retiring to SC in 2002.  As a longtime member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Northeast Columbia, he enjoyed attending Mass and then meeting his friends afterwards at their "Coffee Club."  His presence as a wonderful and animated storyteller will be missed by many, but never forgotten... may he rest in peace.
A private family memorial service will be held in the near future.
