William Louis Karnickey was born in Charleston, SC on January 23,1950. He
departed his life on August 1,2018. William attended public schools in Charleston
SC. He graduated from Burke High School in 1968, where he excelled in football
was co-captain of Burke Championship football team.
He was the son of the late Frank and Irene Karnickey of Charleston, SC. He was
preceded into death by his brother Frank Jerome Karnickey and sister Helen
Smith.
William was a graduate of Allen University and Midlands Technical College. He
also earned credit hours from South Carolina State College and the University of
South Carolina.
William was a resident of Blythewood,SC. He was also a minister attending Glory
International in Columbia, SC
William was a retired Licensed Social Worker from the Department of Juvenile
Justice. He later used his skills counseling young people and marriage couples.
William played football at Allen University and South Carolina State College. He
earned outstanding college athlete twice in addition he was a two time all state
conference player. He played six years semi-pro football with the Augusta Eagles
in Augusta Georgia with the Dixie Football League.
William was a diabled Army Vietnam Era Veteran
William is survived by his Lovely wife Jewel Karnickey of 47 years, children,
grandchildren and great grand children and host of family and friends.
His favorite song was I Am A New Creation.
