Rev. Stephen Vassar

A service to celebrate the life of Reverend Stephen  D. Vassar, 68, of Columbia will be held at 3:30 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at North Columbia Baptist church. The family will receive friends  following the service at the church. Senior lunch bunch, Jeannette Arrington, Francis Gray, Linda Hofer, Floyd Moon, Raeford Manning and Lee Manning. Honorary pall bearers will be, Josh Keels, Robbie Keels, Donald Mixson, John Powell and Tommy Young. in Lieu of flowers,  memorial donations may be made to Agape Hospice House, 128 Library Hill Rd., Lexington SC 29072
Rev. Vassar passed away Tuesday June 5, 2018. He was born in Greenville, SC and was the son of the late Isaac C. and Margaret Elizabeth Vassar. Rev Vassar was the pastor of North Columbia Baptist Church for 38 years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and loved any activity where family was close by.
Rev. Vassar is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Vassar; daughters, Stephanie Black (deceased) and Faith (Jason) Kendall; grandchildren, Lucile and Leola Kendall and Sydney Black; sisters, Sybil (Tommy) Woodward and Cindy (Donald) Mixson; numerous nieces and nephews; four legged companion Molly.
