James Kinard

A funeral Service for James R. "Payday" Kinard, 87, will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12pm prior to the service. 

Mr. Kinard passed away July 11, 2018. He was born December 15, 1930 in Barnwell, SC.  He was the son of the late Clevin Kinard and Minnie Lee Tooten Kinard.

Mr. Kinard was a veteran of the Korean War.  He retired from Dupont Fiber Co. in 1985 and went on to work part time at Kroger.  After 9 years at Kroger he then retired.

He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.  His favorite pass time was fishing and spending time with his Dachshund "Cocoa". 

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy J Joyner Kinard, sons Steve L Kinard (Darlene), J Allen Kinard, Bruce L.  Kinard (Robin), daughter Joyce M. Mellette (Tommy), 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and sister Elizabeth Hutto.  Mr. Kinard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Oneal Tooten, Grover Kinard, and Lewis Kinard.
