Francine S Wood

A service to celebrate the life of Francine (Smith) Wood will be held at 12 noon Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley. The family  will receive friends from 11 am to 12 Pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Crescent Hill Memorial Park.

Francine (Smith) Wood has gone to be with the Lord and now has a new pain-free body on August 7, 2018. She was born March 24, 1934 in Athens, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Coy and Mildred Scarborough. Mrs Wood was the widow of the late Lawrence Russell Smith and  is survived by her son, James (Vickie) Smith and daughter, Frances (Larry) Payne; grandchildren, Jamie Smith, April Smith, Melissa (Mike) Jayne  and Larry Payne Jr. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Francis G. Wood and is survived by her stepchildren,  John (Cindy) Wood, Sue (Jack) Mills and Jimmy (Jenny) Wood and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Shirley (Don) Greene, Jerry (Nancy) Scarborough, Linda Scarborough and Johnny (Phyllis) Scarborough. She was preceded in death by her siblings,  Walter Scarborough, Mary Sexton, Mattie Becker, Betty Guy and Robert Scarborough
The family would like to thank Brookdale Senior living community of Columbia and it’s  staff for the special care of Mrs. Wood.
