Dean Carter

     Carey “Dean” Carter, 61, of Eastover, SC, passed away on October 1, 2019. Born on October 9, 1957, in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Junious and Cecil DuBose Carter.

     Dean was employed at Hood Construction until his illness forced him to retire. He deeply missed his work in construction and often told tales of his days on construction sites.

     Dean is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Taylor (Chris) of Lexington, SC and Deana Carter of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Caylee, Payton, and Ethan Taylor; as well as four brothers, one sister, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carrie and Deana would like to express how appreciative Dean was, and they are to their mother, Janice Carter Griffin, for her immeasurable kindness and support for helping with and caring for Dean over the last year.

     A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home, 4645 Hard Scrabble Rd. Columbia, SC 29229. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  As Dean would have wanted, dress is casual.
