David Johnson

A service to celebrate the life of David Johnson of Columbia will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Spring Valley Baptist Church at 12 o’clock noon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the church.
David passed away Thursday April 5, 2018 at his home. He was born in Richland, Georgia and was the son of the late Tommie Johnson Sr. and Mandy Davis Johnson. David was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church and was the past worshipful master of St. Peter's #20, Prince Hall Masonic Lodge and past patron of Ruth Chapter #25 OES.

David is survived by his wife, Nancy E. Hawkinson Wirkki Johnson; sisters, Ethel May (Jimmy)  Wright and Willie Bell Johnson; brothers, Tommie Johnson, Jr., Gilroy Johnson and Johnnie R. (Elaine) Johnson; step children, Rolf E. (Melanie) Wirkki, Karin (Frances) Cahill and Inga (Brett) Kingsley; children, Paulette, David, Michael, Vola and Ruth and many grandchildren and a great granddaughter. David was preceded in death by his brother Paul Johnson.
