Stephen D. McNeill

Stephen Douglas McNeill RIDGEWAY-Stephen Douglas McNeill, 65, went home to be with the
Lord on March 1, 2018. He was born on April 18, 1952 in Connersville, IN to Percy Hannah
McNeill and the late Martha Jane Russell. He was a graduate of Eau Claire High School and J
Sgt Reynolds College. He began his career with Heater Well Company in 1966 and then later
opened up his own business, McNeill Well Drilling, Inc. in 1982, where he worked for the
remainder of his career until he retired in 2015. He was a past president of the South Carolina
Ground Water Association and on the Board of Directors of the South Atlantic Jubilee. He was
a loving son, husband, father, and most importantly, Papa. He is survived by his father, Percy
(Jo) McNeill; wife of 35 years Melissa Wiles McNeill; sister, Martha Ann (Thomas) Lovett; 3
children, Melody (Tommy) Hughes, Reverend Stephen (Morgan) McNeill, April McNeill; 6
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Martha
Jane Russell and his son, Christopher McNeill. The family will be at the home of Melissa
McNeill. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 at Kornegay &
Moseley Funeral Home, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road. Services will be held immediately after at
3:00 at the funeral home with interment at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family
request memorial donations be made to Greene Street United Methodist Church, 1106 Greene
Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
