Peggy Joyner Kinard

A service to celebrate the life of Peggy Joyce Joyner Kinard, 87, of Elgin will be held at 2:00 pm Friday June 16, 2023 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley, with Rev. Brett DeYoung officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a Greenhaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, one may make donations to a charity of ones choice or a local animal shelter. 

Mrs Kinard passed away Monday June 12, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kershaw County and was the daughter of C. Elmer and Mary Louise Jordan Joyner. Mrs. Kinard worked as a Vet Tech for many years and enjoyed flowers, gardening and animals. She was also employed with Square D and loved southern home style cooking. 

Mrs. Kinard is survived by her sons, Steve L Kinard (Darlene), Bruce L.  Kinard (Robin), daughter, Joyce M. Mellette (Tommy), 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and siblings Mary Lou and David Looper, Billy Sue and Kem Brown, Jimmy and Ginger Joyner and Gary and Debbie Joyner. Mrs. Kinard was preceded in death by her husband, James “Payday” Kinard, son, Allen Kinard, parents, sister, Jacqueline Peake and brothers,  Edward Joyner and Marvin Joyner.
