Weemy Baskin, III Obituary

Weems “Weemy” Oliver Baskin, III, 81, of Columbia, SC, loving husband, father, and brother, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018. The family will receive friends to celebrate his life Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 PM at their home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oliver Gospel Mission, 1100 Taylor Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or The Animal Mission, 127 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209.

Weems was born in Athens, GA, the son of the late Weems Oliver Baskin, Jr. and Etta Mack May Baskin. He was a graduate of USC and a lifetime entrepreneur. Weems was a very good man.

Weems is survived by his wife, Elaine Crouch Baskin; daughters, Celeste “Cissy” Baskin and Catherine Lesser; sons, Gianpaolo Bonaca (Riley) and Mark Bonaca (Jamie); 4 grandchildren; and his sister, Anne B. Vaughn (Jerry).
