Ruth S. Clymer

A service to celebrate the life of Ruth Ann Senderling Clymer, 91, of Columbia will be held 2:00 pm Friday September 25, 2015 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley with pastor Paul Pepin  officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Ft Jackson National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossings Community Church, 2831 Clemson Road, Columbia, SC 29229.

Mrs. Clymer passed away Tuesday September 22, 2015. She was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late George H. Senderling and the late Evelynn Senderling of Philadelphia PA. Mrs. Clymer was an US Navy veteran of WW II. She was a member of the Daughters of American Republic, and enjoyed being with family, playing golf, reading, and traveling. Mrs. Clymer was an avid Gamecock fan.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Peggy Clymer Beland (George), son Charles R. (Chuck) Clymer, Jr (Karen); grandchildren, Tara and Krista Hall, Christopher and Jonathan Clymer; stepgrandchildren, Emily and Sarah Lemmond. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard (Chuck) Clymer, Sr.

Ruth and Chuck were married for 64 years, and spent time after retirement in Encinitas, CA and Ormond Beach, FL. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in Columbia SC
