Patricia M. Bracey

On the beautiful sunny Mother's Day morning of May 10, 2015 Patricia Marie Harrell Bracey entered into Eternal Life.  She truly followed the mandate of God to love and serve your fellow man to the very best of your abilities. Patricia was a member of both Camden First and Good Hope Wesley Chapel United Methodist Churches.  She loved family and friends and enjoyed life.  She especially enjoyed praising her Savior at church in music and fellowship.

Patricia, more commonly known as Pat, was born in Camden, South Carolina on June 15, 1931.  She was the daughter of the late John and Lucy Harrell, and the wife of the late Edward Whittaker Bracey, Jr., Major (Ret.) USAF. She attended Mather Academy in Camden and graduated from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Pat received her masters in education from the University of Illinois Champaign, Illinois. As a dedicated military spouse, Pat traveled the world with her husband Ed of 58 years. She taught kindergarten for 30 plus years traveling from Maine, Illinois, Washington, Colorado, North and South Carolina to Japan. Pat loved children and music in general.

She is survived by her three children, Eric V. Bracey, Gale L. Bracey Erekson and Hal E. Bracey; grandsons, David Erekson II, Dawson Erekson and Christian Erekson; her sister, Lula Callwood; her sister-in-laws, Vivian Metze and Matt Riley Bracey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A funeral service for Patricia M. Bracey, 83 of Camden, will be held at 9:30am on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley with burial to follow at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8pm on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, SC 29229. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camden First United Methodist Church, 704 W Dekalb St, Camden, SC 29020 or Good Hope - Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 851 Sumter Highway, Camden, SC 29020.
