Memorial Services for Michael F. Solloa, Sr., 77, of Columbia will be held 12:00 noon Sunday November 8, 2009 at Columbia Crossroads Northeast with the Reverend Paul Di Toma Officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbia Crossroads Northeast, 930 Longtown Rd., Columbia, SC 29229 or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Solloa died Wednesday October 21, 2009. He was born in Cuba, son of the late Miguel and Bertha Quintana Solloa. Mr. Solloa was a certified public accountant in Cuba and worked in the restaurant industry in many capacities once he immigrated to the United States. He was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodge and American Legion and Lyons Club. Mr. Solloa enjoyed hunting, fishing, going camping, the outdoors, cruises in his boat and gardening. Mr. Solloa is survived by his wife, Alice Peltekian Solloa, children, Lelis Pond, Norys Schmitt, Linda Parker, Christina Puryear, Sonia Rowe and H. Michael Solloa, Jr., 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brother, Victor Solloa and sister, Monica Fernandez.
