Michael Archer Crumpton ,65, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 9, 2016 after a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer.  He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Arthur Leonard and Martha Elizabeth Archer Crumpton.  Mike was in the furniture business for over 40 years serving as National Sales Manager for Bassett Furniture Industries and later retired from Broyhill Furniture as Sales Rep for South Carolina.  He  loved to cook on his deck, to fish and golf when he could and was an avid Alabama football fan, "Roll Tide".  
 In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Dr. A. Wayne Crumpton and sister-in-law, Carol Tyler Crumpton.  
 He is survived by his sons Michael Archer Crumpton Jr. (Gwen) and Frederick B. Crumpton  and grandchildren Michael Archer III and Evelyn Margaret Crumpton. His brother Paul Kenneth Crumpton (Shirley) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike is also survived by his devoted life partner and faithful caretaker, Sharon Skvoretz and her family whose care for him gave him the faith, strength and encouragement to continue his battle for two and a half years.
In addition are his many friends from Jones Valley High School, fellow former members from Powderly Baptist Church who he dearly loved and who loved and encouraged him.
  He was also untiringly blessed by fellow Christians in the Joy Sunday School class and the pastors and staff of Northeast Presbyterian Church in Columbia where he was a member.
 The memorial  service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, September 16 at Northeast Presbyterian Church.  
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to  the kind professionals of Palmetto Health Hospice, especially Kelly and Joy and all his caregivers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to  "The Legacy Of Faith" program at NEPC 601 Polo Rd. Columbia, SC 29223.
Birmingham friends will celebrate Mike's life at a Jones Valley luncheon on September 21st.
