Janice R. Porter, 68, of Winnsboro passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday February 2, 2016. She is survived by her longtime companion/husband, Fred McGregor and her son, Sam Bannister and wife Jo, one brother, Paul Porter and sister, Capri Lewis, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Kate Porter and 4 sisters, Diane, Janet, Frances and Carolyn Porter and 1 brother, Frankie Akins. A memorial service will be held at graveside at 2pm on Saturday February 6, 2016 at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family following the memorial service at the home of Sam and Jo Bannister. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
