George Blaine Wood

George Blaine Wood, 90, of Columbia, SC passed away at Pruitt Health Blythewood May 18, 2015. Originally from Martinsville, Va., Mr. Wood served in the US Navy during World War II as Pharmacist's Mate 2nd Class.  Mr. and Mrs. Wood owned BEWOOD Paint & Decorating in Camden, SC for many years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Evelyn Carter Wood; children, Townesy Wood Bowers (John), George Blaine Wood, Jr. “Chip” (Kathleen); four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded by parents, Samuel Edward Wood and Alice Craig Wood; siblings, Louise Hundley Wood and Samuel Edward Wood, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Kornegay & Moseley, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, SC.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11AM in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley, with private burial for family at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
