A memorial service for Emile Preston Maigret, of Columbia, will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, May 1, 2015 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley, with Pastor Marion Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Maigret passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the age of 85. Born in Annapolis, Maryland on September 12, 1929, he was the son of John Auguste Maigret and Vera Sheffield Maigret. Emile served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the district government in Washington, D.C. for 26 years and retired in Columbia, S.C.
Emile is survived by his children, John (Amy) Maigret and Lisa (Paul) Daly; step-daughter, Belinda Dearing; grandchildren, Paul Daly Jr. and Jack Preston Daly; brothers, John Maigret and James (Maureen) Maigret. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Maigret and his former wife, Lucia Maigret; sister, Cecile Driggs; sister-in-law, Nancy Maigret.
