Elmer "Heab" Heaberlin, Jr. of Columbia, SC and husband of Ruth Heaberlin, died Thursday, August 31 2017 at his home. He was the son of Elmer H. Heaberlin Sr. and Maureen Scott Heaberlin and originally from Greenup County, KY.
He is survived by four children, Cheryl and Larry Ellis of Franklin, TN, Tim and Kim Heaberlin of Nolensville, TN, Mac and Rhonda Heaberlin of Franklin, TN, Scott and Rebecca Heaberlin of Columbia, SC, and grandchildren Zach Heaberlin (Meg), Madison Duggar (Logan), Reiley Eilermann (Ryan), Logan, Cayleigh, Lauren, Mallory, and nieces and nephews Mike (Becky), Chandra (Andrew), Cooper, Aaron, Sheri (Michael), Daniel (Jenny), Maren, Campbell, Hollyn, Zeke, and Stuart.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother (Mac Scott), and sister (Jean).
Whether he was known as coach, teacher, sportsman, fan, brother, Sweetheart husband, Dad, Grampsy, or Uncle Heab he was a role model of a Godly man. He was a friend to all with a quick wit and mild manner - except perhaps when his beloved UK Wildcats took to the basketball court.
A funeral service will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, where he was a long time member, in Columbia, SC on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM prior to the service.
