The Dartmouth Class of 1955 sends its love and remembrances to the sons, daughters and grandchildren of our classmate, Dr. Joe Hick. His life was exemplary and was one of service to his family, his country and his Lord. We shall miss him.

We have many fond memories of Joe and his family when they lived in Delta, CO. He was a wonderful, compassionate person and doctor. He delivered 2 of our children. He will be missed by many. Please accept our sympathies.

I wanted to reach out to you during this sad time to offer my condolences. While nothing will completely take away your grief, by meditating on God's promises found in the Bible, you can find real hope and the strength to keep going. I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting. Here it promises that God "will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."

Joe lived a long good life and helped many people along the way. He was a dedicated medical officer in the army, conscientious Rotarian, and most important to us, a good friend. Joe will be missed by all who knew him but now he joins Pat in a better place. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of sorrow.
