A service to celebrate the life of Carol Chester, of Columbia will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday May 26, 2016 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley, 4645 Hard Scrabble Road. Burial will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday May 25, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Chester passed away Friday May 20, 2016 at Providence Hospital. She was born in Georgetown, Guyana and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Critchlow Thompson. Mrs. Chester was married to the late Rudolph Harlington Chester 41 years before his passing in 2011.
Mrs. Chester is survived by in her two sons, Ray (Wendy) Chester and Conrad Chester; siblings, Thelma, Leonard, Valerie and Michael; nine grandchildren, Vanessa (Tre'), Ryan, Rana, Tori, Regina, Vanezza, Harley, Peyton and Jennah; and two great grandchildren, Cole and Cameron; and a host of other relatives and friends.
