A service to celebrate the life of Betty L. Franz, 83, of Columbia will be held 1:30 pm Friday December 8, 2017 at Northeast Presbyterian Church with Dr. George Crow. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Grand Hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northeast Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Franz passed away peacefully on Saturday December 2, 2017 at Providence Hospital, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Wood River, Illinois and was the daughter of the late Robert Collier and Edna Mitchem Van Doren. Mrs. Franz was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church, where she served as President of the Circle of Faith and as Secretary of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She also served many churches in various ministries and enjoyed making homemade greeting cards for her friends and family members.
Mrs. Franz is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth L. Franz; children, Brad (Eyvonne) Franz, Lori (Gary) Franz Baker and Steve Franz; grandchildren, Chris and Christy Franz, Andrew (Sarah) Baker, Hannah (Eric) McDaniel, Joseph Baker, Stephanie (Kevin) Knippen and David Franz.
