A funeral mass for Bernard A. Maraghy, 95, of Columbia will be held at 10 am Thursday October 20, 2016 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with Father Alexander "Sandy" Mcdonald officiating. Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park with military rites. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
Mr. Maraghy passed away Sunday October 16, 2016. He was born in Boston, MA. and was the son of the late Aloysius and Irene Maraghy. Mr. Maraghy was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Woodlands Country Club. He was an avid golfer and was the biggest Boston sports teams fan. Mr. Maraghy served in the Coast Guard during WWII and later served in the Naval Reserve.
Mr. Maraghy is survived by his children, Michael B. (Susan) Maraghy, Patrick B. (Grace) Maraghy, Louise (Brian) Beville, Gerard J. (Mary) Maraghy and Paul K. Maraghy; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Loraine Ilg. Mr. Maraghy was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Maraghy and six sisters.
